Our Food Pantry Mission
Distribute supplemental and/or emergency non-perishable food to eligible County residents in need, Provide hands on opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors educate the public about the issues of hunger in our area.
FOOD ARRIVES
Share the Harvest Food Pantry relies on 99% of our food from one main source; Central Missouri Food Bank in Columbia, MO. It is such a blessing to have this available. Without them there would be no food pantry.
SORTING
Volunteers sort the donations into different categories to facilitate efficient use of storage space.
PACKING
We allow clients to pick out their own food as to not pack up something that they may not like or may just throw away. We try to reach the goal of each person receiving 28 pounds of food each month. That is figured to last the average person 4-5 days.
Information, Education, Volunteer Opportunities
Last, but not least, we feel it is important to provide information and education about the needs in our community as well as volunteer opportunities where people can feel they have actually made a difference.
